Job Description


  • Must have minimum 2 year's Crane Operating experience
  • Own Crane Operating license a strong asset
  • Own Forklift license a strong asset
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and take direction in English
RESPONSIBILITIES for Crane Operator:
  • Work as a Crane Operator AND Saw Operator; operating safely
  • Perform Daily Operator Inspections on cranes and forklifts
  • Use the transfer buggy safely
  • Supply and Remove tube bundles from the mills and at the saws; keeping pace to avoid interruption of production
  • Plan in advance the use of floor areas to meet the storage needs of varying mill schedules
  • Complete all paperwork correctly
  • Load any truck with bundles to be shipped
  • Initial “Inspected by” sticker to the back of the mill tag bag for each bundle loaded
  • Weigh scrap from the mills, transfer, store, and load onto trucks as required
  • Use slings, dunnage, and boarding ladders safely
  • Rack stackers and dunnage when not in use
  • Communicate and coordinate with Operations and Maintenance
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Read and understand cutting orders; Set up and operate saws at rated production
  • Cut and deburr tube to produce correct lengths, a quality cut, and correct packages per order
  • Tack weld the ends of round tube in bundles prior to cutting
  • Load long lengths with overhead crane and remove cut lengths with forklift as necessary
  • Cut, remove, replace, and crimp steel banding as required
  • Read and correctly use micrometers, vernier calipers, radius gauges, measuring tape
  • Complete all saw paperwork correctly
  • Communicate and coordinate with Shipping, Material Handling and Maintenance
  • Assist with and write saw procedures for all sizes of tube
  • Change blades and track blade life as needed
  • Assist with saw maintenance as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Completion of High School Education or GED


  • Regular hourly pay rate of $17.95
  • Overtime rate will be paid 1.5 times the hourly rate if the hours worked exceeds 40 hours per work week


  • Full-time 40+ hours per week - Monday to Friday
  • Must be flexible with start time
  • Regular hours: 7:00 am- 3:20 pm (8-hr shift)
  • When needed: 5:00 am - 3:20 pm (10-hr shift) or 3:00 am - 3:20 pm (12-hr shift)
  • Occasional Saturday shifts
